Barely 5 months after launching the Huawei Y100, Safaricom is now sellling the new Huawei Y200 U8655. The Y200 can be considered a bigger version of the Y100.

The Huawei Y200 which will be retailing at around 12,000 Kshs is similar to the Y100 in various specs including:

  • Android OS v2.3 Gingerbread
  • A 800 MHz Qualcomm MSM7225A Snapdragon CPU
  • 3.2 MP camera (with video record/replay)
  • 3G data speeds, with 7.2 Mbps
  • Wi-fi enabled + hotspot
  • 512MB ROM internal storage, with 256MB RAM
  • Micro USB, 3.5mm earphone jack
  • 1250mAh battery

The major improvement on the Y200 will be the display size and type. The Y200 comes boasting of an IPS LCD display which gives it wider viewing angles while at the same time helping it lower power consumption. This should assist improve the overall battery performance on the Y200.

Well this could be an answer from Huawei following reviews on the Y100 about the display size. What do you think of the Y200?

I just bought the Y200, it has normal features, similar to the Y100 but the battery runs out super fast, especially if you are a heavy internet user.
