Safaricom now offers HTC phones and tab

HTC lovers and Android fans have now been given a chance to purchase their favourite smartphones, HTC, from Safaricom. Safaricom now stocks various HTC phone models and a tab.

HTC  formerly High Tech Computer Corporation  is a Taiwanese manufacturer of smartphones. The company initially made smartphones based mostly on Microsoft‘s Windows Mobile operating system (OS) software, but in 2009 it began to shift its core focus away from Windows Mobile devices to devices based on Android OS, and in 2010 to Windows Phone OS as well.

Safaricom now stocks the following HTC phones and tab:

HTC Sensation which boasts of the following features:

Android Operating System v2.3, aka Gingerbread, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, a S-LCD Capacitive touchscreen, scratch resistant Gorilla glass , Multi-touch input method, 3G internet, Email alert support, 8 Megapixel Camera, HD Video Camera, Memory Card support, a Wi-Fi enabled and an FM radio. It has a 1 GB internal storage and 768 MB of RAM.

The Sensation will be retailing at around 55K at Safaricom shops.

HTC Wildfire S

The Wildfire S which is also known as HTC PG76110 has the following specs:

Android Operating System v2.3, aka Gingerbread, 600 MHz ARM processor, a Capacitive touchscreen, Scratch resistant Gorilla Glass display, multi touch input method, 3G internet, Email alert support, 5 Megapixel Camera, HD Video Camera, Memory Card support, a Wi-Fi & Wi-fi Transmitter and FM radio.

It will be retailing at around 30K.

HTC Desire S

The Desire comes loaded with Android Operating System v2.3 (Gingerbread) and is upgradeable to version 2.3.5. It also has a 1GHz processor, a S-LCD Capacitive touchscreen, scratch resistant Gorilla glass , Multi-touch input method, 3G internet, Email alert support, 5 Megapixel Camera, HD Video Camera, Memory Card support, a Wi-Fi & Wi-fi Transmitter and FM radio. It has an internal memory of  1.1 GB ROM and 768 MB RAM.

It will be retailing at around 50K at Safaricom shops.

HTC ChaCha

The ChaCha, by virtue of being one of the view HTC models with a QWERTY Keyboard is also known as HTC ChaChaCha.

It comes with Android Operating System v2.3 (Gingerbread), 800 MHz processor, scratch resistant Gorilla glass , Multi-touch input method, 3G internet, Email alert support, 5 Megapixel Camera, HD Video Camera, Memory Card support, a Wi-Fi enabled and an FM radio.

The ChaCha will be retailing at around 35K at Safaricom shops.

HTC Flyer

The Flyer is a tablet and has no GSM voice communication capabilities.  It comes loaded with Android Operating System v2.3.3, 7″ Touch screen, 1.5 GHz processor,  3G internet, Email alert support, 5 Megapixel Camera, Dolby Mobile and SRS sound, Music & HD video playback, Memory Card support, a Wi-Fi & Wi-fi Transmitter. It has an internal storage of 16/32 GB and a 1 GB RAM.

The HTC tab will be retailing at around 80K.

Note that the prices change periodically, depending on various factors.

The Safaricom Open Day is around the corner (coming weekend) so you should find these items on sale there.

    I need an android v2.3 phone. I have seen the galaxy pocket but i am not satisfied with some of its features. Please let me know of other options with the same price

      You should have a look at the LG Optimus E400 with Android v2.3
