Safaricom reduces its BlackBerry access fee

Safaricom has announced a reduction of the BlackBerry monthly subscription charges as follows:

1.   Blackberry Internet Services (BIS) is now reduced from Ksh 2,000 to Ksh 999 monthly effective 18th March 2011. 

BIS Services:

▪  Unlimited Internet and Emails on your BlackBerry device.

▪  Unlimited Facebook, Twitter, BlackBerry Messenger

▪  BlackBerry App World (access to both FREE and proprietary applications) 

2.   Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) is now reduced from Ksh 2,000 to Ksh 1,499 monthly effective 1st April 2011. 

BES Services:

▪  Unlimited Internet and Emails on your BlackBerry device.

▪  Enterprise Solutions

▪  Unlimited Facebook, Twitter, BlackBerry Messenger

▪  BlackBerry App World (access to both FREE and proprietary applications) 

For PrePay subscribers to subscribe to the BlackBerry service they will send a blank SMS to 210 then restart your BlackBerry device once the confirmation message is received. They will need to have a minimum of Ksh 999 in their account.

For PostPay subscribers they will need to visit Safaricom Retail Shops for activation of the service.

Note:
BES is specifically for corporate clients who will need the enterprise server installed so as to access their company mail and other systems.
